E.L.F. Splurge Day Sale Haul

18 pieces of the 24 piece haul for under $30
June 16th was National Splurge Day, but with E.L.F. Cosmetics and their fabulous prices, every day can be Splurge Day!

What I got:
     - Custom Compact with Mirror
     - Custom Eyes Refill Pan in Ivory, Periwinkle, Purple, and Aubergine
     - Flawless Eye Shadow in Beautiful Browns
     - Brightening Eye Color in Pretty n' Pink x 1 and Luxe x 4
     - Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara in Black Brown

The compact and pans were a gift for my friend that is getting married at the end of this July (yay!), the flawless shadows in brown was a gift for my sister. The Luxe collection is a bridesmaid gift for the wedding mentioned above, and the Pretty n' Pink and mascara are for myself. The E.L.F. items show up really well on my lids, but I am super fair skinned, so almost everything shows up on my skin.
The mascara is pretty much the best one that I own now. It doesn't get rubbery, doesn't clump, and although I haven't had time to test the water resistance, I have high hopes.

What I got:
     - Soothing Lip Balm in Strawberry Creme x 1 and Blackberry Creme x 4
     - Lip Stain in Pink PetalCherry Bomb, and Berry Blush
     - Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby Lips

The Blackberry balms are more wedding gifts, and the Strawberry is another for my sister, as well as the liquid lipstick. The Pink Petal and Cherry Bomb stains are for myself, and the Berry Blush is for another friend. The stains work better than expected and have no scent or taste (I have paid more for a Revlon stain and had it stink and taste horrible).

What I got:
     - Blush in Gotta Glow
     - Clear Studio SPF 20 Face Primer
     - Shimmering Facial Whip in Spotlight

The blush was less tan than I had anticipated, so this would probably work best mixed with another product to either be used as an all-over shimmer with powder foundation or mixed with another blush to soften the color and add shine. The face primer has an SPF in it, so there IS a faint sunscreen screen, but it fades when it is dry and you have applied makeup over it. I get pretty good coverage from about 3/4 of a pump. The facial whip was another gift for my bride friend.

My Personal Haul

My personal makeup items from this trip are the primer, pink eye pallet, blush, pink and red lip stains, and the mascara. I have only recently started to wear makeup as an "everyday" thing (it's really only when I'm leaving the house for prolonged periods of time). I have been in need of makeup to match my skin tone which is pretty much paper white with a VERY subtle hint of pink. I have actually started using powder foundation because the liquids are almost always too tan for me. (I just bought Mary Kay's Mineral Powder Foundation in Ivory 0.5, and I love it. It is the perfect shade and offers really good coverage while still feeling light!)

I have a very low eye crease as well, so all eye shadow I use either needs to be on the bottom half of my lid or completely cover it. No smokey eyes here! I love the lighter shades in the Brightening Eye pallet, and at $0.49 it's an absolute steal!

The pink and red lip stains are for the days where I want long-lasting color, and I can go more natural or bold. The mascara in black brown will compliment my light blue/grey eyes, and it is light enough that it doesn't give me as much trouble as the other large chain mascaras that clump and make me feel like my eyes are coated in rubber cement.
